" O r P h A n "

We watched the movie 'Orphan' last Saturday, Aug 1, 2009 again in Sta. Lucia East mall in Cainta (where we used to be every Saturday!).

When I saw the poster of this movie in the mall, na-curious ako, kase ang type kong mga movies are yung horror, thriller or suspense - type.

I thought the movie is really horror, yung may multo-multo type, wala naman, pero the story is in fairness may twist so I can say na that the movie is nice.

Well, a very very brief info about the movie. Kate and John lost their unborn child, and medyo na-depressed si Kate about that. They already have 2 children, but since their baby girl also likes to have a sister and nagde-depress-depressan sya, so they decided na mag-ampon ng girl, and she was Esther. The story started common, right?, but if you get to watch it and learn as to where Esther came from, you can say na may 'story' and real twist sya.

Yun lang! Overall, the movie is good! ^___^

My rating: 7 out of 10

" Public Enemies "

It would be my first time to include a movie review on my blog. Well, not actually a movie review but a very very short 'reaction' on the movies I watched.

I will not give all the details about a particular movie since you can search it on the net, but just 'my' reaction on the movie as well as my rating.

Kenetoy and I usually spend our Saturdays on the mall, particularly Sta.Lucia East mall in Cainta kasi ito yung pinaka-malapit sa amin. We watch movies (95% of our visit sa mall) , sometimes we play Bingo (bihira!), food trip, and sometimes play sa Worlds of Fun.

Last July 25, 2009, again that was Saturday, we watched 'Public Enemies'. Actually, I haven't heard/seen any trailer about this movie, I just saw this sa mismong mall na. We have no choice that time kasi we already watched the other movies na kasabayan nya.

Ok, my reaction for this movie -- NICE MOVIE! ASTIG DIN!

Ito yung movie wherein medyo ang mafi-feel mo is gusto mong manalo yung Kontrabida who was John Dillinger (Johnny Depp) over sa bida (Christian Bale).

Galing talaga ni Johnny Depp in this movie! His job here was 'bank job'. The story is kinda unique, may drama, action and a little of comedy, medyo old yung setting pero since the story is good, all in all, maganda yung movie.

Syempre, mostly ang end ng story is yung bida ang nanalo, so..... toooot.... =( Hehehehe....

Well, one trivia I have read about it, si Leonardo Di Caprio pala initially dapat ang nasa lead role of this movie, pero ndi natuloy.

Yun, in case you will be watching this, ok sya, you will enjoy it I think, kase nag-enjoy naman kami ni Kenetoy watching it.

My Rating: 7 out of 10

Grande Island, Subic !!!

We had our project's 1st Summer Outing in Grande Island, Subic, last May 23- 24, 2009.

Just an fyi, this event happened the same day when a boat from Batangas Pier going to Puerto Galera ay lumubog! Katakot, buti na lang di kami natuloy sa Puerto!

By the way, Edvie and I were the organizers of this event. ^____^

Meeting Time: 6 am - 7:00 am

We have 3 Pick-up Points, we used 2 vans from CAISTA, Miss Dainty and Kuya Pete bought their own car.

Everybody is so excited! Halos walang late that time! At exactly 7:00 am, we left Dao Bldg.

During our stop-over on one of the gasoline stations, we saw Kuya Kim!

Actually, nandun yung anak ni Zobel de Ayala? Riding sa mamahalin na motor, Benz, astig. Nakatingin kaming lahat, ahahahha!!!! =)

At around 11 am, we were in Subic. We took our lunch there sa Jobee! Nagpahinga, then at 1:00 pm, we went to the Ferry Station kasi it will leave at 1:30 pm.

Sa Ferry Station, habang naghihintay ng time, picture-taking muna!

Dami din people waiting for the ferry! Iba't-ibang companies having their Summer Outing din sa Grande Island.

We're on the ferry! In fairness, air-conditioned yung loob. Then meron din sa taas where you can go para magpahangin at sight-seeing!! =)

Pic with my Kenetoy!!! ^___^

Well, It took us about 30 - 45 mins before we reached the island.

What can I say about the place. . .

If you are looking for a nice, quiet and peaceful place, this one's the right for you. It's the opposite of Puerto Galera I think. The place is solar-powered, so limited yung lights on the ground, but you have power on your rooms. You can go to their site, don't know the exact, just search for Grande Island, Subic.

With regards to their rooms, they do have nice and clean rooms, may mga towels, soap, etc. na din na provided. Air-conditioned, and beach-front, with 2 queen-sized beds.

Each also has a small terrace facing the beach kung san pwedeng tumambay.

The gorgeous ladies of Excellus! ^_____^

We separated them into 4 teams, and the program consists of 4 different games.

Naka-video yung mga games and it would be difficult if I will upload it here kasi malalaki yung sizes nila. Basta masaya ang mga games (kasi kami ni Edvie ang nag-organize?!?) Lolzz....

By the way, here are some pictures taken during the game, meron pa din kahit papaano!

Blue and red teams during their 20-min practice sa Tunog-Tao Cheering (1st Game)!!!

The second game, 'Punuin mo, Baby!'.

Unahan yung mga members na punuin yung 1-liter na bottle of softdrink ng water from the beach... But (again...), they should first sink their whole body sa beach (lubog pati ulo!), then they'll be getting the water from the beach using any part of their body, bawal ang magpiga ng damit. They can use their mouth (alam ko yuck!), hands, water on their hair, t-shirts, etc.

Isa lang member for each team ang tatakbo, then after matapos yung isang member, that 's the only time the next member can go to the beach, lulubog, then go to the bottle para maglagay ng water.

One best sample. Ahahahha!!!! ^____^

Howard? Bakit dilaw yung tubig na pumapatak sa shorts mo?!?!?

The 3rd game. . . 'Ilatag mooooo!'

This game is quite common na, kase on one of our Team Buildings in Accenture, ito din yung nilaro namin, masaya so I've included it on our Team Building games as well.

The objective of this game is maglatag ng kahit anong meron ka 'ngaun' sa katawan mo. Kung sinong team ang may pinakamahabang mailalatag, they will win this game!

Aside from those games, meron pang iba.

At night, we had our buffet dinner, as usual after nun, andun ang inuman, then naglaro kami ng cards ('bluff'), nakakatuwa! =)

In the morning, breakfast, then swimming na ulit! We also had banana boat!

Then, at 1 pm, we already prepare to come back na sa Manila. Medyo bitin yung stay dun pag overnight, pero ok na din kasi nag enjoy naman kaming lahat!!! ^__^

Well, that's all! Masyado na kasing maraming events that happened last year, hirap na i-blog one by one, so I have it compiled into one blog na lang. For the succeeding happenings, I'll make it a point na my blog site is up to date! ^_____^

"Longest Drive . . . Tagaytay Joyride !!!"

I had my driving lesson last February of 2008, so I was driving at almost a year and a half now! It was really an achievement for me when I drove from our office here in McKinley Taguig to Tagaytay! My Longest Drive ever!!!

We left the office at around 5:00 PM last May 29, 2009 (that was Friday) to visit the wake of Benj's father in Gen. Trias Cavite. It was my first time sa SLEX kung saan ako ang driver! Kinda afraid because all the cars behind me were really so fast at first, kaso may part din na traffic na kase.

We had our stop over sa Shell Gasoline Station ba un? (not so sure if Shell or Petron) para mag dinner at around 6:30 PM I think.

We reached Benj's house in Cavite at around 9:30 PM na kasi naligaw kami, medyo malaki talaga kase yung Cavite and nasa subdivision pa sila.

We stayed there until 12:30 AM na ng madaling-araw so medyo antok na talaga kami, and hindi pa din namin alam kung saan kami matutulog that time. Since we need din i-break-in yung car, we decided to go to Tagaytay.

So sobrang dahan-dahan talaga kasi nakakatakot!

We found several inns along the way pero medyo mahal din talaga, at around P2500 - P3500? Eh since matutulog lang naman kami (we're 5), naghanap pa kami ng cheaper.

It was around 2:30 AM that time ng makita namin yung Eagle's Rooms! In fairness maganda and malinis yung rooms! They have family rooms for 4, since 5 kami, we requested na magpadagdag na lang ng extra mattress for 200 pesos. 1500 yung room plus 200 for extra mattress, 1700 lahat, pwede na kasi airconditioned naman sya.

We slept at around 3:00 AM na until 10:00 AM. Pagkagising, nag-prepare kami ng breakfast. Pancit Canton, Tasty bread, at Milo! They have their own store there and a place (kusina type!) where you can cook your food.

Ang dami-dami ding manokssss dun!, around 20 cguro o lagpas pa?!? Nakakatuwa kasi nagpakain kami ng mga manok at nag-aagawan sila, province na province talaga ang dating! Nakakatuwa!

After that nag-prepare na kami, naligo then headed our way to People's Park.

Along the way (papuntang Batangas na), we saw this 'Near the Sky' mini restaurant wherein kitang-kita mo yung Taal Volcano!

If I'm not mistaken, that was in front of Lala's house!, my former classmate in college! Pero sa pagkakaalam ko lumipat na sila ng new house somewhere in Tagaytay din eh.

At first, medyo mahirap makita yung taal kasi yung fog halos nasa harapan mo na, pumapasok na nga sa resto. After few minutes, maki-clear, then andyan na naman.

Gosh... I can't forget the food sa Near the Sky! MASARAP promise! Especially yung bulalo and kare-kare nila, Promise talaga!

I really recommend this 'kainan' for those who will be visiting Tagaytay! Hindi din mahal ang mga price nila, at around 1k, sobra-sobra sa aming 5, may 5 viands yata kami nun, hindi namin naubos kasi dami din ng servings nila.

10 Thumbs Up!

Khoi, Edvie and Donna!

From 'Near the Sky', we then went to People's Park! There is a part there where you need to leave your car kasi sobrang tarik ng daan, you can buy also fruits at the base of the park and some pasalubongs. There's a free taste ng pinya nila doon, so we've tried it and sobrang tamis in fairness! Below are some of the pasalubong we bought:

Just an update by the way, the entrance fee sa People's Park is P15.

You have a choice if you want to ride a jeepney paakyat there, or maglalakad ka. Since sobrang ma-fog that time, and umaambon-ambon, we decided na mag-jeep na lang (fare is P5).

Here's a picture of us with umbrellas before entering the park.

A picture inside the park, background - - - FOG!
Kenetoy, Pattie, Donna, Khoi and Edvie!

A picture taken from a higher part of the People's Park.
Walang fog noh? They come and go every now and then eh!

As per Edvie: 'May taho ba sa langit?'

Edvie? Cowboy? Ibalik mo na yan sa tindahan!

Another picture of us, Donna and I were wearing a jacket kasi malamig!!!

Well, that's all! We really had fun in our joyride in Tagaytay, it's my first time na umalis, bumyahe ng madaling-araw, and pumunta sa malayong lugar ng hindi alam kung san pupunta at kung san matutulog!
We left at around 5:00 PM, naligaw pa kami ulit pauwi, may time nga na nalampasan ko ung Toll Gate ng di sinasadya, first timer eh, kaloka, wala tuloy ticket na nakuha so binayaran namin ung pinaka-mahal! We had our stop over for dinner on one of the gasoline stations, then na-traffic na kami pabalik, and reached our home around 9:30 PM. So tiring, pero napaka-memorable, . . at ANG SAYA!!! ^___^
